The state education funding formula is the formula that is used to determine the total amount of funds that are needed for each student. Every state incurs a cost to educate students enrolled in public K-12 schools which are divided between local, state, and federal resources. There are different types of state education funding formula, which is currently being used by different states, they are:
· Foundation/Modified Foundation: Foundation method is a method that provides the base-funding amount that is then multiplied by the weight of each student. The weight which is used to multiply varies depending on o the level of student’s educational needs. The modified foundation uses the same methodology, but there is a slight modification which is done based on districts and other factors
