Introduction
The book which will be looked into through this discussion is Animal Farm by
George Orwell. This book which was published in t
he year 1945 is an allegorical novella
giving an account of the incidents related to the Russian Revolution of 1917 as well as the
Stalinist era of the Soviet Union.
This book is widely acclaimed to be one of the best commentaries of the socio eco
political events of the aforementioned time period. All the allegories which were used as part
of the book were virtually linked political significances during that time. Due to the critical
approach which George Orwell had regarding Joseph Stalin and the then social and economic
condition of Soviet Union, this allegorical book was written by him. This is a very important
piece of literature which criticizes the brutal dictatorship of Stalin in Soviet Union which was
enforced through a terror reign.
Hence this book also looks into the sustainability themes which were relevant for the
socio eco political backdrop of the timeframe which was discussed in the book.
Synopsis
This political fable revolves around the animals of the Manor Farm who were treated
badly by the mean and drunken farmer of the farm Mr. Jones. One day the pig leader of the
animals Old Major, calls for a meeting of all the animals of the farm and inspires them
through the story of a song which n turn leads to a resistance...
