Weighting 40% Total Marks 40 marks Context Computers operate in binary, which means that any sort of calculations are done using zeros and ones. To understand how both hardware and software work together, we need to know not only their architecture but also the language that they use. In this assessment, there are two aspects, the first is for you to demonstrate your skills in critically analysing computing related mathematics. The second is to reflect on your learning and demonstrate ideas in a professional manner. Instructions. • Review the learning resources for Module 3.1 – Module 4.2 (including Module 4.2) before starting the assessment. • You must write an essay about computing related mathematics and their applications in our daily life specially in the context of information systems. o Please make sure to include some examples and provide references for your claims. To cite the reference, please conform to the APA referencing style. MIS101 Assessment 2 Brief Page 2 of 4 Submission Instructions: Upon completing, students should submit their assessment via SafeAssign in blackboard. Your essay should be posted to the discussion forum. 1. Introduction
The mathematics is having long impact on human’s life. The involuntary uses of computation make relationship to mathematics and computer systems. The complete working of computers is based on implementation of mathematics as complete working of computers is based on binary numbers. The presented work shows the parallel relationship and direct connection among the computer systems and mathematics. In parallel mechanism, the implementation of mathematical methodologies and other computing paradigms are helping in development of certain applications which can make ease to human life. The development of algorithms required for problem solving in computer systems are mainly based on the implementation of mathematics.
2. Computer systems and their elements based on mathematics
The computer systems involve different elements in their actual implementation like CPU, monitors and many more. The ALU is the core unit which defines the arithmetic and logical operations of complete computer system. The data storage and processing on computer systems are based on binary number system. The complete operations are based on 0 and 1, so, the mathematics involves high dependency to computer system. The operations of electronic applications used in computer system like motherboards, keyboard and mouse are based on binary numbers as binary numbers provides them guidance for true and false. The implementation of inheritance and abstraction are based on the mathematical rules. The comprehensive description of mathematics helps in defining the operations for elements of computer system. The combination of electronic engineering and mathematics collectively maintains the operational success to the computer systems. The technological principles used in...
