Submission By 11:59 PM AEST/AEDT Friday of Module 4.1 (week 7) Weighting 40% Total Marks 40 marks Context: The assessment suite in this subject is built on top of skills you are building in your learning activities. Although the learning activities do not carry any assessable weight by themselves, completing them and seeking input from your peers and the learning facilitator is essential for you to achieving a positive result in the subject. Before beginning this assessment, be sure that you have completed the learning activities in the modules one, two and three. Instructions: Read the feedback from the learning facilitator on your first assessment carefully. Fix any holes in your analysis and build a cache of external references if you fell short of the referencing requirement. With your (enhanced) first assessment as a starting point, use the identification of activities, sub-activities and linkages between them to formulate a solution plan for Latureae. Using the principles of agile, present a recommended systems blueprint to the Latureae management. If you make recommendations on specific systems, you should refer to external sources on how these have led other firms to significant efficiency improvements in the past. The solution plan should be appropriately justified and illustrate to management what the expected gains of implementing your solution would ideally be. MIS500-Assign2 Page 2 of 3 There is no required format for the assessment. Students should use initiative and be sure to conform to the APA referencing style, making use of external sources as appropriate. Submission Instructions: You are expected to begin this assessment when you begin the trimester, especially as you relate the learning activities (formative assessment) to this and the other (summative) assessments. Be sure to keep several drafts of your work as well as your notes and any sources you used to draw on in preparing it. Extensions will be considered only in extenuating circumstances where the student has applied before the due date. At that point, students are required to provide the latest draft, in case the extension is not granted. Students are responsible for keeping appropriate back-ups and drafts of their assignments and to submit the correct version. Torrens University Australia policies apply to the preparation and submission of this assignment. Very good insight demonstrated in the solution plan; it can be seen to align to the principles of agile. Exceptional insight demonstrated in the solution plan; it can plainly be seen to align to the principles of agile. Justification for Solution and Expected Gains to Client 30% The focus for this criterion cannot be seen in the assignment. The student should seek help from the learning facilitator. The justification for the presented plan is passable; further work may be needed to justify expected gains or otherwise explain them clearly. Presentation of Assignment, Strength of Recommendations 20% The presentation and/or recommendations may need additional work. The recommendations may need further tracing back to the analyses. The presentation is average, and the recommendations can be seen to trace back to the preceding analysis. Good presentation with appropriate recommendation presented. Very good presentation with insightful recommendations. An exceptional assignment presentation with exceptional and insightful recommendations that are to be commended. Use of External Sources 20% Work is needed here to incorporate external sources into the report. The student can be seen to have tried to integrate external sources into the report. Further work is needed and the student should consult a librarian to build their skill base. Some external sources are used. A number of high-quality external sources have been incorporated into the report and the references are in the APA format. Several high-quality external sources have been incorporated into the report; the student has been critical of them and the references are in the APA format. Foundations of Information Systems Assessment one Critical Analysis Submitted to Dr. Shahrzad Saremi INTRODUCTION Latureae is a well-established company in Australia. They support people by selling the herbal products with suggestions. All over the nation, the company distributes their natural products. The growth of the company is improved by the working way of the employee’s i.e. CEO, Team leader in every department. They need to improve the profit by upgrading their existing infrastructure. Our effort as the consultant, we are here to apply the Porter’s chain model to the existing organization structure. This model defines that the cost of the product that is required will be lower than that of the selling cost where operating cost is included so this approach will give the profit to the company. Some steps are performed to analyse and gather the data for performing the model. Due to this the requirements of the customers are analysed so that the products are manufactured according to it. In this report, the objectives, value creation and detailed description of Porter’s value chain model and recommendations are discussed (Armistead and Clark, 1993). OBJECTIVES The objective of the Latureae can be categorized into strategic objectives and operational objectives. The following objectives are strategic objectives: · Innovate and develop the product as a leader · Train the employees and upgrade their skills · Contribute the profit to welfare and health development · Maintain the competitive level in marketing The following objectives are operational objectives: · Constant marketing approach should be used for increasing the growth of the organization to 15%. · Recruit new employees for overcoming the turnover of the employees · Using social media for improving the sales of the company to 15% · Reduce the package volume to 20% in 1 year. · To improve and upgrade the business implement data management. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ACTIVITIES The main goal of the organization is to achieve the profit to the organization. For that, they are categorized into primary and supporting activities. Every organization will have different activities. Profit of the organization will not be determined for a long time because the products are updated with the new products. To save the customers from shifting over the brand some factors should be considered when a company releases its product. A recent report says that most customers are interested in affording new products at low cost. It also should satisfy their requirements so they will not choose other brands. The work of the employee doesn't stop here. It is continued to support the product in case of any issues after the sales. The company should response same to the customer in case of buying the product or reporting the issue of the product (Akhavan, Jafari and Fathian, 2006). In future, the company has to create more products in order to achieve the product when compared to the existing system. For that porter's chain rule is used. Before implementing the primary and supporting activities should analysed. The primary activity of the company is to trade the herbal products which help the people by providing fitness. The secondary activity of the organization is to provide the product to the people who are in a remote location. An E-commerce store is available where the people from the remote location and those who are busy with their daily activities can buy the product online. CREATING THE VALUES In the organization there are different types of teams are working for achieving the goal. In companies, the values are created with the raw data where useful information is generated. Retailers will produce a product where the customer needs and services are satisfied. For example, in case of insurance company the policies will be signed and given to the policyholder where the trust for the customer’s investment is established. Policies are signed in user-friendly method so the information will be clearly known to them. Profit margin can be calculated using the formula. Companies are investing more in profit value creation. So, the profit margin can be calculated by adding amount of value created with the captured value of amount and then subtract it from the original cost of the product to get the margin. When creation of value is more than the profit will also be more so if more products are sold to the customer then it will
