Introduction
	The concept of good life for human beings is more like hypothetical assumptions for the philosophers of all ages; there are multiple dimensions of the scholars who tend to associate their perspectives of good life. For example, Plato and Aristotle believe that morality and ethics pertaining to public wellbeing is the pillar of leading a satisfactory life. The modern philosophers like Foucault foresee the consequences of power and discipline and find it relevant to align power and discipline as the two major discourses to lead happy life. In most of his writing, Foucault is motivated by the enlightenment of Kant and follows the spatial values of society which give access to power and authority to people. 
Overview of Good Life
	At first, it is significant to note here that there are certain parameters of leading a happy and well contained life. Some people might argue that gaining material favors from society is the standpoint of becoming good and positive in life for human beings; when material gains are strong and steady, the course of life becomes smooth and the emotions of positivity dominate the living of people. This perception has been popularized by the modern philosophers who find material objects as the foundations of the successful and happy living. The more is gained, the more the life seems to be settled for the people. 
This brings in the conceptual interpretation of Foucault like philosophers who understand the basic value of power in life. To gain material favors on behalf of others, it is important to have power in hand and it should not be centralized because centralized state of power gives authority to take decisions. One has to be in the perfect frame of mind before taking up the question of power and authority because it can also give way to evil side developed fully and exposed to others as well. Thus, a careful application of power and discipline can make people happy which Foucault explains in his philosophical expressions. 
The Role of Power and Goodness or Quality in Life 
	In the context of examining the role of power and its contribution to shape the lives of common people positively, Foucault’s first impression is that it should not be limited to the hands of a few people in the state. When power is given to the few, they become prone to misuse it for their personal gains and to take authority over others. It increases the social divide among people and does not help in attaining the highest order of goodness of human life.
