After successful completion of this assignment, students should be able to: b) Explain human factors in achieving business and technical goals through planning and design. c) Develop architectural internetworking design for the business and application domains. Weight Part A: 5% and Part B: 10% Total Marks 70 Word limit NA Due Date Part A Due Date 11:55PM 11th April, 2021 (Week 3) Part B Due Date 11:55 PM 9th May, 2021 (Week 7) Submission Guidelines Assignment1 being formative assessment is divided into two parts. The first part of assignment 1 focuses on the basic network design concepts that is marked for 5% of the total marks and the second part is an extension of first part with detailed Network design, the remaining 10% of the total marks. Students have to submit the first part by the end of week 3. Assignment 1B would be submitted in week 7. All work must be submitted on Moodle by the due date along with a completed Assignment Cover Page. The assignment must be in MS Word format, 1.5 spacing, 11-pt Calibri (Body) font and 2 cm margins on all four sides of your page with appropriate section headings. Reference sources must be cited in the text of the report, and listed appropriately at the end in a reference list using IEEE referencing style. Extension If an extension of time to submit work is required, a Special Consideration Application must be submitted directly on AMS. You must submit this application three working days prior to the due date of the assignment. Assignment 1 Description Business case study: Network design proposal for a real estate company Description A small, independent, insurance company “Count On Us” has decided to purchase computers and install an office network so they can begin filing tax returns electronically. Up to now, they have been completely computer-less, but they know times are changing and they need to use technology to remain competitive. This company has four (4) different departments (Admin, Finance, Security, and Managers) in Sydney. The company wants to expand its branch office to Queensland with the same office setup as in Sydney. Its Sydney office sits on approximately four acres of land and serves over 100 staff and 20 guest users. The office consist of two buildings. One building is used for admin and finance and other building has Security and Managers. Each building has two floors with each department on each floor Client is also requesting wireless internet access at all buildings. The company needs a comprehensive, technologically advanced Network solution that is cost effective and allow for network monitoring for this main office. The solution had to be easy to deploy and manage due to limited staff. Write a report with the following contents Executive Summary Goals Priorities List five questions you wish to ask the general manager on the first meeting with the general manager. Network Topology Project hardware requirements (only for main office) with estimated budget. o Name of the network device with manufacturer’s name, series, model and ports o Network topology o Type of the cables o Name of the server, PC with specification such as operating system, RAM, hard disk etc. Network Design in Cisco Packet Tracer Network device configurations Router configuration BN202 Internetworking Technologies Page#3 of 4 Prepared by: Dr Sadia Aziz Moderated by: Dr Sihui (Sue) Zhou March, 2021 o set hostname as your family name o display the name of the file and version of IOS o display the name of the interfaces o display 6 IOS modes o set system clock to 20th December 2020 4:45pm o Set encrypted password for console access o Configure the password for telnet access o Demonstrate connectivity between different departments Marking criteria: Submission One (Part A) – 5%: Section to be included in the report Description of the section Marks Project Scope Outline the report List five questions to ask from GM 3 5 Abstract Network Design Create a topology of the Network with all headings and justifications 6 Project hardware requirements a.
