Introduction
With increasing competition in the business environment, the employers of most of the business organisations have been looking for candidates who have the skills and abilities to be critical thinkers. Critical thinkers are now being preferred in the business environment across the globe as they tend to make better and informed decisions to manage business as well as other organisational problems. Creative decision making has been identified as one of the key aspects of resolving several issues related to the day-to-day operations of a business unit. This is possible only if the employers allow its employees to communicate via open communication channels. These critical thinking skills when combined together with other cognitive and technical skills will help the employees realise their ethical as well as professional responsibility. The article titled “Critical Thinking Skills for Business School Graduates as Demanded by Employers: A Strategic Perspective and Recommendations” is one such article that highlights the importance of critical thinking in the curriculum of business schools.
Background of Research

Teaching strategies require the faculties to think critically and imbibe the same in their students. The roots of such thinking can be traced back to the ideologies of Socrates followed by Aristotle and Plato. Later thinkers like Darwin and Smith helped to apply the concept of critical thinking to several such as education, business, society, science and many more. The concept of higher order thinking or critical thinking was first associated with educational objectives by Benjamin Bloom in the year 1956.
In the analysis of the chosen article, the surveys conducted by Association of American Colleges and Chronicle of Higher Education it has been observed that most of the American Employers want business schools and colleges to produce graduates who have the abilities to thinking critically and creatively and have excellent oral as well as written communication skills. Therefore, it is important for the faculties teaching in these institutions to understand that critical thinking is one of the most looked after skills these days and should be taught to the students (Desai, Berger & Higgs, 2016). The compilation of the outcomes conducted by this research also helps to highlight the difference between analytical thinking and critical thinking.
Critical Analysis of the Research objectives and Questions
The paper has been written within an objective to investigate the understanding of professors in business schools regarding critical thinking. Another objective of the paper is to provide the business schools with recommendations they can incorporate into their curriculum to develop critical thinking skills among the students and the faculties in addition to the analytical thinking skills. It is important for business schools to come up with standards to promote common understanding of critical thinking (Sánchez, Rodríguez & Martínez, 2019). The research question behind conducting the research explained in this paper are to identify whether there exists common perceptions related to the concept of critical...
