M-commerce or the mobile-commerce can be described as a commercial transaction that
involves the transfer of ownership rights of using goods and serv
ices, and is conducted using
a mobile device such as a mobile phone or a PDA.
Increasing penetration of mobile devices across the world and growing demand for
convenience is driving m-commerce activities. According to comScore – a leading internet
analytics company, approximately 38% of all the smartphone owners across the world, have
used their phone for purchasing after they owned these devices. Product and services
purchased using the mobile devices includes Digital purchases, books, clothing and
accessories, auto, flowers, hotel deals, tickets, foods etc.

Many industries across the globe have resort to the use of mobile commerce for increasing
the customer base and total revenue. For example retail, telecom, banks etc. Besides the
regular users of the m-commerce, many industries like the insurance, hotel and travel
industry etc, have started revamping their business model to leverage on the growing demand
