LSLO Downconverter Design an LSLO downconverting receiver that converts an RF signal centered in the 170–210 MHz range to a 70 MHz IF. Your circuit should contain two filters, a mixer and a local oscillator. The bandwidth of the IF filter is 8 MHz and the signal bandwidth is 100 kHz. See Figure 10-76. Derive the frequency allocation plan and include
• Filter frequencies
• RFs
• LO frequencies
• Image frequencies
Show the orientation of the image and LO frequency ranges (i.e., if the receiver tunes from 170 MHz up to 210 MHz, does the LO frequency increase or decrease?). Similarly, if the receiver tunes from 170 to 210 MHz, does the image frequency increase or decrease?
