Patient autonomy is the right of patient to make decision about their medical care without their healthcare provider trying to influence the decision. It requires physicians to respect patients autonomy by giving them them information needed to understand the risk and benefits of proposed intervention , as well as reasonable alternatives so that they make independent decisions. A person’s wishes for their body and their life has to come before any healthcare practice. If a person is religious and a decision is made Thats against their religious beliefs by a healthcare worker could force that person to commit a sin that they had no control of , and that’s not fair to a person that has to live the rest of their life feeling or actually being exiled from their religious group.
