On successful completion of this subject, you should:
Be able to accurately describe the fundamental concepts and approaches in qualitative and
quantitative research methodology
Be able to identify how moral, ethical, cultural, social, political and environmental issues and
responsibilities impact on research.
Be able to critically review and critique the literature through the use of valid resources, and
thereby provide informed opinion.
Be able to demonstrate skills in critical thinking by accurately synthesising new research
results in science/health.
Be able to apply introductory descriptive and inferential statistical concepts and techniques
in the analysis of data.
