Learning outcomes:By the end of this task, you will have a good grasp of understanding information technology projects and familiar with the background to the project. This step is the beginning stage of a project where ideas are vague and people are sorting out their ideas.Activity 1:30 minutes to write a project name and brief (minimum 3 paragraphs) that you want to undertake for the rest of the semester in your portfolio. Include in the brief why it is a proper information technology project.Activity 2:30 minutes to create a concept map to demonstrate your understanding of the project (do a Google/Bing search to see how to draw concept maps).Click here for an instructional youtube clip. Concept maps are simply putting all your random thoughts down on a page in a semi-organised manner. They are used at the start of a project to get your ideas moving. Micosoft Visio or bubbl.us/mindmap are useful tools.Activity 3:In 60 minutes describe the scope of your project in roughly 500 words (not less than or more than one single spaced page) and complete the first three sections of the project charter which are scope overview, business case and background.
