Description: Length: Maximum 2500 words Selected one case study bellow 1. Nigel is a 19-year-old prisoner serving a 6-year sentence for assault and robbery. Nigel has been in trouble with the law since his early teens, and has spent time in juvenile institutions. He has committed a variety of offences, many of which involve violence. In interview he presents as a sullen and uncooperative person with poor social skills. He has come from a grossly deprived background. Both his parents were alcoholic and he was subject to frequent physical and psychological abuse. His father has also served time in prison. In discussing his offences, and particularly his violent behaviour, Nigel states that he can't stand people looking down on him. He feels a sense of satisfaction when he is able to physically hurt those he thinks look down on him. He has been charged with a number of assaults on other prisoners while in prison. He drinks heavily and seems to get particularly violent when drunk.
