Recently, your firm decided to try to improve the productivity and the worklife balance of their staff. More than 1000 taxation and advisory staff are employed along with 500 administrative staff. After reading about organisations that cut working hours to 20 hours per week, your office has decided to have a six month trial. On Monday each week staff at each office meet to nominate the days and hours they will work in the following week. The aim of the meeting is to enable staff to collaborate to ensure there is an adequate staff presence at each office during the opening hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. The partners want to find out the staff’s opinions about their experiences in servicing clients as the staff work reduced hours. Staff have also been asked to talk with clients about how the change in accounting staff hours may have affected the service they receive. They ask you to conduct a qualitative research to answer the following questions concerning the taxation and advisory staff:  What do staff believe are the advantages of the 20 hour work week?  What problems have staff encountered in 20 hour work week?  What comments have staff received from clients about services after the 20 hour work week was introduced?  What suggestions do staff have to improve client services while maintaining the 20 hour work week? Objective of research
The objective of the research is to analyse the effect of implementing the 20 hour work a week for the employees in the organization. Qualitative approach
Qualitative approach is one of the approach to analyse the research, it employs the philosophical assumptions, strategies and methods to analyse the research. In this analysis, the researcher is trying to collect the data where we are observing the behaviour and the effect of implementation of 20 hour work a week from the employees of the organization. As the research is being conducted by the accounting and the taxation firm which is operating in different cities, the qualitative research will hold more importance. This will help the company to have the inductive data analysis of the research being conducted. In this research, the participants hold a meaning and the research revolves around the participants of the company. This research will also consider the interpretive inquiry where the researcher will be able to analyse the effect of the implementation of the 20 hour work a week.
Population from participants
The population refers to the group of the people who will be indulged in the research. In this major participants from the population will include: The employees of the taxation and advisory department, the staff, and the clients.
Sample size determination
The organization has more than 1000 taxation and advisory staff and many clients with the company. From the total population of 1000 staff, the sample will be for 200 employees which will form a base for research and will be the base for the conclusion of the research conducted. For the clients, we will conduct a research for 200 clients.
Sample of participants
The sample of the participants will be collected on a random base. As the company has its operations indifferent cities like Canberra, Cairns, Newcastle and Toowoomba. The sample will be collected from these cities and then analysed at the head branch. The sample from each branch will be around 10-15 participants from the each cities and the clients will also be taken from all the cities where the firm operates.
How will the data be collected from participants?
The data collection will be done through computer assisted questionnaire which will be send to the sample employees across different cities. The employees and the clients will be required to fill the questionnaire with full details and send it to the required email Id by the date specified.

The questions that will be asked to the participants will be open ended questions as well as close ended questions. The example of the questions includes:
