Last Friday, President Ramaphosa announced that he will seek to reduce emissions from large power plants. He intends to make these power plants release less of four materials: SO2, NO,, CO2, and mercury. Mercury is acutely toxic to humans. For each of the other three materials, list the mair environmental problem(s) that the reduction addresses. The President's announcement carefully avoided calling CO2 a "pollutant", although the others are called pollutants. What scientific (not political) reason supports the President's idea that CO, is not a pollutant?
