Executive Summary
Amazon.com, which operates as Amazon, is an Ameri
can cloud computing and e-commerce business based in Seattle, Washington, founded by Jeff Bezos on July 5, 1994. The tech giant is world's biggest retailer of internet by revenue and market capitalisation, second only to Alibaba in total sales. Amazon.com started out as online bookstore moreover later diversified into video streaming/downloads, MP3 downloads/streaming media, and audio-reading downloads/streaming media, software, electronics, video games, clothing, furniture, food, jewelry and toys (Noddy, 2019). The business produces customer electronics - Kindle e-readers, fire TV, fire tablets, or Echo - #39 or is the biggest cloud infrastructure service provider of the world (PAAS and IAAS). Amazon sells some low-end goods under its in-house product, Amazon (Noddy, 2019). This study is about change management strategy of Amazon case study.
Change management strategy which Amazon has taken to achieve success
“The successful implementation of the strategy has always required some change in the resource situation of the organizations". Jeff Bezos has made innovation and sustainability a key strategy for his business, achieving this through continuous technological expansion and improvements in the variety of joint ventures and acquisitions. It’s seen that a lot of strategies have failed due toa lack of interest of management. It’s essential that, to execute an effective strategy, the essential resources must be owed to it, with external and internal factors playing a main role in its success (Noddy, 2019). "It's not what you do; it's the way you do it - that's the way you get results". Jeff Bezos has also been \ successful in executing the plan at correct time as "if a person wants to enter before a competitor and gain a market benefit with a same idea, then the timing of the strategy is critical".
It's worth noting that, despite its size, Amazon, unlike most of the industries with hierarchical organizational structures, is extremely flexible and able to adjust to frequent change in external market (Awodesu, 2018). Additionally, the online retail business giant is leading the way in external business environment, which has led to disruptive new in e-commerce, which is about to be disruptive in international logistics business. This is mainly because of the visionary as well as effective leadership of Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder or chief executive.
· Amazon's organizational structure (OS) is expected to change for foreseeable future with the $13.7 billion acquisition of Whole Foods in 2017. In addition, the company's organizational structure will remain dynamic and change on a regular basis as it actively adheres to its business diversification strategy (Beerel, 2009). As Amazon went online in 1995, the e-commerce giant has undergone dramatic changes, though the further 20 years have been led by same man, Jeff Bezos.
· Bezos says he needs his accumulate to be the largest in the world, because he works hard to attain that goal - whether that means offering innovative goods, launching Amazon Prime, launching Amazon Instant Video. The record continues. Nowadays, Amazon sells around 200 million goods to consumers globally (Noddy, 2019). Even though Amazon's detractors have insisted for years that business is not profitable as much as necessary to justify a few investments, everything changed in 2015 when the business launched a successful quarter in a row. The market is responsive, and nowadays Amazon has a market evaluation of approximately $440 billion. Nevertheless Bezos is not close to completion. There's talk of the Amazon delivery packages by drone (Bradford and Leberman, 2017). If that is not enough, Bezos said he wants Amazon to produce as lots as 16 feature films a year. In 2017, Bezos and his group took home three Oscars.
· Amazon seems to be a business that can also be described as changing. So far, they have been very successful, possibly because companies always put consumer first.
Leadership approach has been shown at Amazon
In principles of Amazon's leadership, they motivate group members to be learned or be curious: "Leaders not at all finishes learning as well as seek to make better themselves." While most Internet billionaires spend their young people learning to code and program, Jeff Bezos is repairing tractor on farm of his grandfather's. Years later, Bezos, Amazon's chief executive, recalls the rural farming lifestyle, saying that while he may...
