Kantrell Corporation uses about 50 gallons a day of a highly corrosive acid as a cleaning agent in its production process. It collects the used acid and funnels it through a pipe out into a pond located entirely on company property; the pond was dug to serve as a place in which to dispose of the acid and other wastes that could not be incinerated or recycled. Is Kantrell violating any federal environmental regulations?
