Elements of Diversity Diverse Learning Styles among Students
Learning is processing the information that the students may read, write or listen. Every individual may have a different learning style and pattern. There could be more than 70 classification systems for classifying learning style among students. Some of them are famous as ‘VAK’ classification, which is based on the principle of classification, as individuals may be one or more of ‘Visual, Auditory, or Kinesthetic’ learners. Other prevalent systems are Kolb's, Honey and Mumford (Newton).
Every individual accepts as well as interprets the signals from this world in a different style and this allows the existence of different learning styles or patterns. Matching the individual’s learning style along with the appropriate type of instructional intervention has been found to improve student’s outcome and performance.
