Janet Smith suggests that people who are unfaithful in a committed relationship (adulterers) lack the virtues of being honest, temperate, kind, etc., and instead have the vices of dishonesty, untrustworthiness, and selfishness. You may not know many adulterers. But you may know friends or acquaintances who have “cheated” on their boyfriends or girlfriends.
