They are produced at their factory in Fremont, California and Gigafactory Shanghai. The company was named after Nikola Tesla who is known for discovering the properties of rotating electromagnetic fields. His work led to what is known as "alternating current," the form of electrical transmission still used today. The technology is relevant because Tesla is a popular vehicle today. They drive themselves and even have an app that you can have the car drive to where you are. This technology matters because it is an electric car. This matters because it helps the earth to stay clean.
