Through a critical study, choose an appropriate storage model based on the application requirements for processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data. LO4: Carry out research on emerging Big Data technologies to evolve models/solutions such as configurable and executable compute jobs on top of using distributed and shared memory architecture and Resilient Distributed Data Sets (RDDs). Objective(s):- This assessment expects the student to submit a critique report on a research article related to a Big Data and its current trend technologies. This assessment is designed to improve student presentation skills and to give students experience in researching a topic and writing a report/Critique report relevant to the Unit of Study subject matter. The research articles would be tasked to explore further research trends relevant to the unit content. As further research findings evolve the unit lecturer may supplement or substitute these to keep the research delivery current and updated. For this component you will prepare a report/critique on an academic paper related to Big data or big data technologies, Big data analytics, Big data security etc. The paper you select must be directly relevant to one of these major topics. The paper can be from any academic conference or other relevant Journal or online sources such as Google Scholar, Academic department repositories etc. The topic and the related paper need not be later than 2013-14. The selected paper title with their URL may be uploaded on discussions in Moodle for other students as a reference and to avoid duplicity. Note: popular magazine articles, web sites and blogs are not academic sources. Copyright © 2020 VIT, All Rights Reserved. 3 MITS6005 Research Report General Instructions 1. All students must select a different paper. The paper must be approved by your instructor or tutor before proceeding. In case two students are wanting to report on the same paper, the first who emails the instructor with their choice will be allocated that paper (provided it is acceptable). 2. A successful Internet of things (IoT) environment requires standardization that contains interoperability, compatibility, reliability, and e„ectiveness of the operations on a global scale. e rapid growth of the IoT causes a sharp growth of data. Enormous amounts of networking sensors are con- tinuously collecting and transmitting data to be stored and processed in the cloud. Such data can be environmental data, geographical data, astronomical data, logistic data, and so on. Mobile devices, transportation facilities, public facilities, and home appliances are the primary data acquisition equipment in IoT. e volume of such data will surpass the capacities of the IT architectures and infrastructure of existing enterprises and, due to real-time analysis character, will also greatly impact the computing capacity. Manage- ment of these increasingly growing data is a challenge for the community in general. Due to the generation of big data by IoT, the existing data-processing capacity of IoT is becoming ine„ective, and it is imperative to incorporate big data technologies to promote the development of IoT. It is im- portant to understand that the success of IoT lies upon the e„ective incorporation of big data analytics. e widespread deployment of IoT also gives a challenge to big data com- munity to propose new techniques since both big data and IoT are interdependent themselves. On the one hand, the widespread deployment of IoT provides data both on quantity and on category, thus providing the opportunity for the application and development of big data; on the other hand, the incorporation of big data analytics in IoT si- multaneously accelerates the research advances and business models of IoT. is special issue provides some exciting papers in this area covering topics like the fault tolerant mechanism for big data applications using the cloud, hybrid parallel load-bal- ancing algorithm for big data application, privacy-pre- serving service recommendation over sparse data, and genetic algorithm for the coevolution of meteorological data in the industrial Internet of things. Introduction
The Internet of Things data has grown exponentially because of innovative developments in the field of IT. The IoT data generated from several devices moreover sensors (for ex
ample temperature, sound, or motion) has a huge gap, is noisy, is highly unstructured, and is generated in a large number of different types. Therefore, it’s not easy for those existing BI as well as common analysis tools that are designed for the procedure of big IoT data [1]. The resolution to the above-mentioned problems can only be realized throughout big IoT data analysis. This article reviews the proprietary moreover open-source data analysis platform of the Big Internet of Things and proposes a comparative analysis to helps further research in the field of Big Internet of Things data analysis. The rapidly growing and expanding field is called the IoT, which involves the expansion of the Internet beyond standards devices such as smartphones, computers, moreover tablets, as well as the link of other objects as well as physical devices. This enables monitoring and control of various devices, and sensors, or interaction and communication via the Internet [2]. This means a lot of opportunities for revolutionary and new types of applications and services. As a outcome, we are now witnessing a technological revolution in which thousand of people are connected through the increasingly widespread use of various devices and generate huge amount of data. The cost of technology has been greatly reduced, which allows everyone to access the Internet as well as collect data and a large amount of concurrent information.
The direct result of the emergence of this revolutionary new technological opportunity is the urgent need to develop and adapt to other associated fields to further promote the progress of the IoT. Therefore, new words and expressions, for example, big data, data science, and cloud computing have begun to appear [3]. Data science has also been explained as "unifying the concepts of statistics, data analysis, machine learning, and related methods" to "understand and analyze actual phenomena in data", or there is a great demand for expert data scientists.
Special attention will be paid to how to solve the increasingly complex management problems that follow. Since this is a complex field, we divide big data process into many different levels to establish the most significant points in evry stage, although highlighting the applicable papers associated with each level to the reader [4]. Because of the difficulty of organization big data, we formed a separate section for the stages of the big data process mentioned above. Our contribution clearly shows the advantages of each stage of the knowledge discovery process compared to methods that provide a broader perspective. The benefit of this plan is the ability to know and analyze the challenges and opportunities in each specific stage [5].
