Your task Individually, you are required to create a 15-minute video, in which you must briefly describe an organisation, analyse its environment and then identify and analyse its competitive advantage. Assessment Description. In this individual assessment, students will be given an opportunity to focus all their previous MBA learning (both theory and practice) to describe and analyse a successful real-world organisation in relation to its development of a sustainable competitive advantage. (LO1 and LO2) Assessment Instructions Individually, choose for analysis an organisation of from the alternatives in the list provided. It should be of interest or relevance to you, your current position and/or your MBA specialisation. Note, the organisation you pick will also be used in Assessment 2. The list will be visible in the Assessments section of MBA600 on MyKBS. Assuming the role of an organisational consultant, you are to apply your strategic thinking skills by researching the organisation and analysing the factors that clearly identify and explain its competitive advantage. Findings should be presented in a video which provides an overview in a form and tone that could be presented to the organisations executive team. It should be 15 minutes long and contain 10 to 15 slides that assist the executive to understand the findings presented. Areas covered should include: • Introduction. • A brief overview of the organisation. • An analysis of the external and internal environment using appropriate theories and frameworks. • Clear articulation of the competitive advantage identified. • A diagnosis of the sources, strengths, weaknesses and future sustainability of the competitive advantage outlined. • A conclusion that identifies strategic opportunities and risks. Late assignment submission penalties Penalties will be imposed on late assignment submissions in accordance with Kaplan Business School “late assignment submission penalties” Policy. Number of days Penalty 1* - 9 days 5% per day for each calendar day late deducted from the total marks available 10 - 14 days 50% deducted from the total marks available. After 14 days Assignments that are submitted more than 14 calendar days after the due date will not be accepted, and the student will receive a mark of zero for the assignment(s). The organizational analysis can be defined as the process, which helps organizational consultant (in this case) to review the work environment, operation, personnel and development of a business. It happens periodically in the organization as it facilitates deep analysis of the organization that is useful in certain ways for the management of the company. After this analysis, management of the company get to know about the problems, insufficiencies and opportunities, which are present but not addressed by the organization. As mentioned by Kousis, Giugni and Lahusen (2018), the organizational analysis is foundation of developing any strategy in the business and even establishing the objective of the business. The characteristics of the organizational analysis include internal, competitive and external analysis. It gives important insight of the business that could help management people to take future decisions. For this report, I chose Coopers Brewery Limited.

· It is a family owned South Australian based beer Producer Company.
· The company hold 3.5 % market share in the Australian beer market.
· The company exports to 26 countries worldwide including India, USA, Russia and UK.
The company established in 1862 by Thomas after he successfully recovered his sick wife from home brewed tonic. His two sons made company’s reputation as a scientifically based brewer of distinction. The Coopers Brewery limited main business targets the process of natural conditioning brewing of beers (Coopers, 2020). The distinctive feature of the company includes uniqueness of being cloudy and handcrafted, and family tradition. Despite Coopers Brewery Limited is a small company, the company holds around 3 percent of total sales to exports. In the year 2005, the company, resisted an A$420 million hostile takeover attempt by Lion Nathan.

The Coopers club purchased 60 % of the Morgan brewing and formed joint venture with American Beverage Distributors (ABD) to target international market.
The mission statement of the company is to provide natural ingredients and natural beverages to satisfy taste, creates enjoyment and nutritional needs.
The company had 115 employees, 132 shareholders including 95 % family members. The company produces and sells different ales, stouts and lagers. Coopers Brewery produces almost 19 types of home brew malts and kits for the industrial product. The company is famous for its managerial capacity and competency. Because of the company’s managing leaders, it is one of the top three brewing leaders in Australia. However, as the environment of the business is changing, the company facing many challenges and competition in brewing market of Australia.
