ASSIGNMENT 1 I used to play a lot of sport games, but I like the basketball game as most. As we know the famous players Orlando griffin, Michael Jordon, LeBron James, from them we can learn how to tackle problems in our life and patience as well. From inspiring them I am making a game name as basketball bumps. It is simple and easy to play, we can unlock achievements and win trophies, it has different options to change unique characters, different balls, jerseys courts as well. In this simple game we can challenge our friends and show of the skills and style. There are multiroom in the game. We can enter the rooms and compete against all around the world and this game has outstanding 3D graphics easy to play but hard to master gameplay. In this picture as we can see LeBron James performing a slam dunk in my game your player can also perform a slam dunk and we can see the height, weight, position of player and all the attributes and statistics. It gives us a real and better gameplay. Game Genre There are many types of games, but I like the sports genre games most. My interest in sports games most because I used to play FIFA, NBA, Basketball kings and Cricket as well . So, I have a lot of interest in that games. A sports genre that gives us a chance to practice different sports. It has different categories like team sports, track and field, extreme sports and combat sports. Some of the games give us a feeling like we are playing the actual sport for example Madden NFL series and FIFA series. Some of the games are in comic effect like Need for Speed, Arch Rivals and Punch-Out. That genre has been very popular throughout the history of video games and is competitive. It is just like real world games , it has characteristics of real team and players and it reflects real-world changes. Different types of Sports Genre: Arcade, Simulation, Management, Multisport, Sports-based fighting etcetera. In sports genre there is an involvement of physical and tactical challenges from which we can test the player’s precision and accuracy. We are provided by the characteristics like speed, strength, acceleration, accuracy, target and so on. Sports genre provides real colour and commentary and the real ground feel. In games like Madden NFL, Football games there are passing facilities and penalty kicks, a free shot of a goal means different features, different characters and manager roles. I like the sports genre most because it gives me the real feel and interesting gameplay and I am very close to sports. First, I really like sports and I have interest in sports more than other things in real life. It gives me a better experience in playing games. In sports genre I can play my sport with other people online like multiplayer and in today’s world people are going crazy about sports either racing sports or ground sports. It offers to develop new skills and interest of people in sports. From sports genre we can learn team development, Management skills and we can learn how to work in a team. We can learn how to control and manage our mind to do the things and create new ideas. Other games are not that much efficient for our physical and mental health. I would like to tell something about my interest to support sports genre. I like the basketball kings because it’s a simple and easy to play and it has 6 different game modes, we can unlock achievements and win trophies. It is a most addictive game and it has different options to change 5 unique characters, 20+ balls, 30+ jerseys, even courts as well. In this simple game, we can challenge our friends and show off the skills and style. There are multiplayer rooms in which we can enter for a real challenge and compete against thousands of real people from all around the world. This game has outstanding 3D graphics, easy to play but hard to master gameplay. Highlights and Hooks 1. Hook at the starting by involving the user in the story 1. Making interest by changing characters, jerseys, balls, grounds etcetera. 1. We can enter in the rooms and compete with friends. 1. We can Perform different actions on ground from given options. 1. Play more and can unlock achievements and get rewards. Story and/or Setting · Story type This game story type is open ended story as the player has the freedom to take on content in any order which means the player can perform different actions like slam dunk, super shot, 3 pointers etcetera. So, there will be many options given to the player like they can choose balls, jerseys, jackets and they can choose characters and option to name the characters. · Summary of the plot In the game we will give them the options to change the player itself to male or female and some normal setting such as · Choosing the grounds · Select the goal types · Sound options, clapping sounds · And other game setting such as about information etc. Further using the game setting, they have the options to change their characters according to their own styles. Women can switch to a female character and the male to a male character. You can turn on and off the sound of the game. · World dimensions The physical space in which the game character can move around would be a 3-dimentional, so the game will have 3 dimensions. Characters This game basically has two characters male and female which are both primary character and can be changed from setting menu. Both these characters enrich the storyline of the game and it seems more professional. While making these characters we will relate them to the actual player’s image and then bring out an interesting real life and enjoyable character. Both these characters will have look and feel in the game which can be verbal or physical. These both characters will be added in ideal form in the game. The functions of the characters would be as options given. One can choose the options to perform actions like run, jump, shoot etcetera. Characters of the game would be something like this shown below: Functioning of the character will also be very simple they can jump, run, shoot, hold the ball, perform different actions. Mechanics These are basically the rules and functioning of the game and description of how can be achieved or lost. Space This game will have a game space with boundaries .It is 3-dimensional with height, width and depth of grounds and player height, and have attribute options. We can move person one place to another with ball and ball have space with boundaries to bounce and shoot options and net. Time We will be allowed to play the game in absolute time which means that it can be played at any time day or night, any season, or years. Continuous time means that actions carry out in real time and feel natural. Every game has some minutes to get goals. We can pause and play the game and control over time as well to give better real gameplay. Objects The objects of this game included bucket, balls, grounds, boards, they all have more than one attribute and game engine in unity get their attributes from attached properties. All the attributes of different characters have static and dynamic attributes which involve speed, colour, scale, time, different options etcetera. Actions They are the verbs of this game mechanics which gives us the freedom of what the character can do such move ,stop , throw, jump, run, tackle etcetera. Games can still be successful with few basic actions, as long as you give ways for the player to use them strategically. Shooting is a basic action as well. We can use different strategies to score and achieve goals and get rewards to unlock new levels and show the skills to others. Rules The game has only concrete rules which they will be applied anyhow they are: 1. Constraints on the timing, space, objects and actions. 1. Time limit. 1. Max goals. 1. Concrete, achievable, balanced, rewarding 1. Reach a high score 1. Extrinsic knowledge These are all operational rules and are constraints of timing, space, objects and actions. Skill They refer to the skill of the player which means if the skill level of the player matches the difficulty of the game, the rules present they will feel appropriately challenged. The skills required for this game are mental physical and social . We can challenge socially as well. Chance This deals with the interactions of all the other six mechanics of the game and it is the uncertainty surprises of the player. Time is a best chance and in time max shoots we can do get high scores against others. Scope of Prototype · For this game development project, I will be showing a prototype of player playing basketball and making a high score within timeframe and performing different actions. Achievement unlocked with rewards to play the game. · Two characters as shown above will be included in the project they can be chosen when the game starts and for changing from one character to other we must go to the settings and change it. · It will comply with the mechanics, will show the actions, time, show, rules and space. · But the main mechanism would be handling the actions from the controllers.
