It is quite possible that a lunar eclipse will occur while you are taking this course. If so, look up on the Internet the precise time that it will happen; in the current issue of a reference from the U.S. Naval Observatory, such as the Astronomical Almanac or Astronomical Phenomena; or in such magazines as Sky & Telescope and Astronomy, which generally run articles about eclipses a month or two before they happen. Make arrangements to observe this eclipse. Note the times at which the Moon enters and exits the Earth’s umbra.
