This book is one of the most significant works that highlighted social work as well as the potential of
critical social work. Furthermore, critical social work is something that can be observed as progressive in terms of the social work that challenges as well as also questions the unequal power relations, harmful division’s social disadvantages, and also injustices by which a society is characterized (Morley et al., 2019).
One of the main concepts that are applied in this particular book is about social work such as what social work at present is and what it can be in the future. It is highlighted by the author that the social work establishment is mainly a conservative understanding concerning the social work that is highly dominant in a lot of welfare systems at present. However, to be more specific the author showcased critical social work. Furthermore, it is described that critical social work has a vibrant and also longstanding history, and the word critical is used a lot of times with different interpretations and meanings. Secondly, the concept of marginalization under the critical social work was introduced that stated that it’s a procedure in terms of pushing something or an individual toward the margins of the society as much as possible.
