History of Child Welfare Institution
The Social Security Act of 1935 have first authorized the federal grants for the child welfare services, from where the child welfare institution in U.S. had came into existence. Initially the institution used to serve children at local level social welfare services, however, over the period of time broader activities are now taken care under the Child Welfare system. This institution takes care of the normal livelihood of the children, it takes care of their health and wellbeing, this institution takes care of providing better guidance, parenting and shelter for the children, and also this institution ensures that proper education is provided to the children (Child Welfare, 2021).
How did the Society Perceive the Child Welfare
Child welfare institution is one of the important organizations in the society because it takes care of many issues related with the child care in the society. The issues such as substance abuse, inadequate housing, health needs, parental imprisonment, and the discrimination faced based on race. Therefore, these issues can be taken care can resolved, which will maintain the harmony in the society, and it will also ensure that the childcare is taken care in a proper manner. Since, this institution is easily approachable, the members of the society can easily approach this institution and can easily convey their issues. Hence, it can be perceived that this institution is acceptable in the society (Toros et al.).
How do Members of the Institution Perceive Itself
The members of the child welfare work with the commitment to provide better childcare service to the society. The members of the institution promote the safety, permanency, along with the well-being of the children, youth and families. The members of the institution are dedicated towards their job and find it responsible to provide all kind of care services to the children, look after their wellbeing, provide them with good health, education, shelter and also protect them from any kind of abuse. Since, it is completely funded by government and monitored by government, therefore, the members do follow the protocols of providing social security services to the society.
How has the Institution Changed over the Time
Since, the Social Security Act of 193, which received first federal grant for the child welfare, it had started with a small scale basis in providing child welfare services, however, it had expanded over the years and provide wide scale services, such as health, education and many more services.
