1. Take any fictional character from a movie or a TV program. Describe the
behavior of that person as portrayed in the movie and then explain the behavior
from any TWO of the following psychological perspectives.
[Cognitive, Humanistic, Behavioral, Physiological, Psychodynamic,
Evolutionary, Cultural diversity.]
Don’t forget to mention the name of the movie or the TV program. [10 points]
The fictional character I chose to take is Hulk from the movie Avengers. He is
one of the super heroes in the movie who is a quite normal person otherwise
but when he gets angry or undergoes stress, he gets violent and gets a lot of
power which he uses to fight the villains. He is otherwise a genius scientist
and the transformation is involuntary.
His psychology is behavioral because the character is dependent on the
external events or people. Once he gets upset or stress or angry because of the
external environment, he gets angry and transforms himself into a different
person with different behavior. His psychology can be understood also as
evolutionary because the way he transformed is because of some reasons and
he transformed to become like what he is.

2. Read the following study and answer the questions asked.-
In an attempt to determine which method would assure the best class
attendance, an educational psychologist had one teacher reward students for
attending class with extra points, a second teacher punish absences by deducting
points, a third teacher scold students for absences and a fourth teacher do
nothing. Results indicated that attendance was best in the first class where the
teacher rewarded the students.
a. Specify whether the following study is Correlational or Experimental.
Give explanation for your answer. [6 points]
b. Specify the Independent and dependent variables. [4 points]
a. A correlation study is a study which uses theory to get to the conclusion
while an experimental study will involve conducting an experiment to
check the best solution possible. In this case, the study is experimental
as the psychologist opted for four teachers who are the subjects of the
experiment and then tried to study which of the four methods is most
effective. Hence, this is an experimental study.
b. The dependent variable here is the class attendance and the
independent variables include points, students and behavioral variables
if they can be quantified (like scolding).
