As a legal adviser at the Australian Mission at the UN I understand that crimes rates are increasing day by day. The government authoritie
s have to implement effective strategies or policies that help in productively reducing the crime rates. International Criminal Court recently stated the importance of having a convention on crime against humanity. While analysing different reports we can understand that crimes against humanity are not codified in an international convention. The main responsibility of the government is to protect people from all the problems and issues. We know the fact that during the time war, the government is not taking any actions against parties who committed crimes against the civilians. By introducing international convention on crimes against humanity helps for reducing the crime and it also helps for improving the overall performance of the government. As a legal adviser at the Australian Mission at the UN I believes that it is my duty to promote the need for introducing international convention on crimes against humanity
Sean Murphy (2019) special reporter of United Nations International Law Commission, the major problem related with the current framework of international law is that it is not giving importance for adding global convention against crimes against humanist. As a legal adviser at the Australian Mission at the UN I understand that the main objective of international law is to protect the interest of the countries, agencies and people. While analysing the framework of international law I understand that the law supporting for the crimes against the civilians are missing. In article 7, crimes against humanity are clearly explained, acts or attach which are committed against the population or masses has to be identified and proper punishment has to be given to the criminals. When I researched about different conventions I understand that the authorities implemented conventions against war, genocide, but they failed to introduce convention on crime against humanity. I strongly recommend that this is the right time for the authorities and international law commission to rethink about the implementation of the convention on crime against humanity.
Through the research and studies and by analysing the laws in Australia I understand that they are some reasons which is helpful for establishing effective system for reducing the crimes against humanity.
Lack of national laws worldwide on crimes against humanity
While analysing the national laws in different countries, including Australia I understand that most of the government authorities failed to implement laws for reducing the crime against humanity.
