Science has dissected humanity well beyond the cellular level. The collective understanding and beliefs about human nature are rich and complex, and they shape and reshape the way lives are led—both personally and professionally. Specifically, beliefs about the human mind govern the assumptions that are held regarding the processes of learning, strategizing, and organizational evolution.
Consider your own perspectives on human nature, and how they mold your opinions about organizational dynamics and business strategy. Think about the notion of the primacy of human autonomy and rationality, and how this shapes traditional models of strategic planning and operations activities.



With these thoughts in mind:
Explain and discuss the limitations of traditional strategic choice models, particularly in terms of rational choice assumptions and assumptions about control and predictability. You may wish to compare and contrast traditional strategic choice models with extended strategic thinking models based on organizational learning and systems dynamics.
