Instructions
There are four tasks in this Assessment of Learning.
Task 1: Research
In this part of the assessment you will research some of the ways light is used in technology and then present the information. The presentation can be a narrated slideshow, a typed document, a video presentation, or a podcast. If you would like to present your work in a different format, check with your teacher before proceeding.
Research three examples of light technology in our society. At least one must use mirrors, and at least one must use lenses. While researching, take notes and record your sources.
At minimum, your information should describe the invention or discovery of the technology, key people in its development, current uses, and plans for the future.
For Task 1, you will submit at least one page of rough research notes that detail your findings, questions you have, and the sources of your information.
Task 2: Visuals and diagrams
For one of the technologies that uses lenses, draw a light ray diagram indicating the focus point, the object, and the location of the image in your technology. For the other two technologies, find a visual or audio illustration of their use. Remember your sources
Task 3: Presentation
Create a presentation aimed at your peers that shares the development of your three technologies. Your presentation can be a narrated slideshow, a typed document, a video presentation, a podcast, or a mixture. Use the visual or audio illustrations in your presentation.
Task 4: APA citation
For this assessment, you are required to develop a bibliography listing the sources you used, including any images and videos. Create a reference list in APA format and submit it to your teacher.
