Instructions:You are part of a team that consists of a psychologist and a marriage counselor– you offer special services to young, married couples. One day, Ted and Maria Hartford pay you a visit. Ted confesses that he is worried about he and his wife; they had just had another horrible fight. Even though they were newly married, Ted and Maria were often engaged in deep conflict. The fact that they couldn't seem to stop the bickering was bad enough; even worse was that neither one of them seemed to know what was causing the disagreements. Their love for each other was irrefutable. So what was causing the disagreements?
Arguments often ended in a shouting match about who said what or who did what to the other party and the original reason for the disagreement was blurred or lost. Having recognized this pattern, it occurred to Ted that their disagreements might be more productive if they agreed to refocus their discussions about what, and not who, caused the conflict.
To this end, Ted began collecting data on a daily basis about events in his life that might trigger their fights…
Let's play the role of the marriage counselor; you are more interested in whether or not specific events triggered the fights.

  • if your FIRST name begins with A-C, Perform the appropriate test to determine if Ted’s sleep patterns changed and thus, have an impact on whether or not there was a fight.

  • if your FIRST name begins with D-K, Perform the appropriate test to determine if Ted’s coffee habits changed and thus, have an impact on whether or not there was a fight.

  • if your FIRST name begins with L-Z, Perform the appropriate test to determine if Ted’s eating habits changed and thus, have an impact on whether or not there was a fight (i.e. look at the calorie data).

Begin by describing the data...what does it suggest?
Perform a two-sample hypothesis test for the mean to verify your claim.
