As a student of business ethics and sustainability, challenges of globalisation have emerged and considerable interest has been directed towards the development of new ways of addressing the diverse impact of business in society. Critically discuss two of the four global challenges impacting business in society today. Question 2. Ethical theories are categorised into consequentialists (teleological) and non- consequentialists (deontological) theories. Describe one theory from each and how it may be applied in a business sense. Question 3. Globalisation has impacted on employment, manufacturing, legal, accountability and cultural issues. Describe from an ethical perspective how culture is impacted by Globalisation. Question 4. Milton Friedman in 1970 put forward an argument that it was the sole responsibility of business to make a profit. exible and moral form of democracy, teleological theories are result-oriented. Duties and rights concerning the people are discussed in deontological theories. A classic theological theory, Utilitarianism focuses on actions that yield maximum satisfaction for a large group of people (Baumane-Vitolina et al., 2016).This theory can be applied in business to strengthen relationships in an organization. Implementation of focused actions that will prove beneficial to both the parties is what utilitarianism is all about. Managers may take a cue here and honor employee’s preferences that shall maximize the impact of actions. To establish moral rights and obligations social contract theory must be applied. This deontological theory focuses on issues of consumer ethics, and deals with issues of civil rights, discrimination and ethical conflicts in the workplace (Galukhin et al., 2017).

Globalisation is flexible and its eccentricity shows that it affects all the entities from individual to organisational level. Globalisation has led to cultural transformations in societies all around the world. Globalisation can have a positive impact on organizations and technologies.
