The Ethics of Torture:
Torture can never be justified as a form of intelligence gathering as it
is inherently flawed and unethical. It is always a debate to consider waterboarding as a form of torture or not. This is a form of torture which the police and the law agencies inflict on the criminals and even terrorists during the time of interrogation for the greater good. Water boarding is a type of torture where water is poured over the face and the nose of the individual with a cloth covering the face. This is done so as to give the person the feeling of getting drowned. This also is considered unethical by many as it is done to inflict severe mental anxiety and suffering. At times even the person dies due to asphyxia.
I found this concept thought provoking as during the 9/11 attacks on the US also many hard-core criminals were interrogated using this waterboarding technique so as to mentally destabilise them and...
