Elderly and Illiterate people in those countries do face difficulties in day-to-day life after technical gadgets have come into handy in almost all walks of life. Majority of the population hold a bank account to avail the benefits from the schemes and programs being introduced by the government for the development of their respective country. Due to their illiteracy and poor understanding of how to operate certain technical functions, they are unable to make proper use of conventional ATMs. On the other hand, walking into a bank for a small transaction is cumbersome for them because of huge attendance in banks nowadays. To tackle such situations, ‘BIO-SOLAR ATM’ is presented which will help people to solve the problem at hand. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT ‘BIO-SOLAR ATM’ partially resembling a conventional ATM, additionally has few other components attached to it which include solar panels, headset/speaker, microphone and a biometric scanner/touchpad. Keeping in mind the difficulty of remembering the PIN, this ‘BIO-SOLAR ATM’ incorporates the use of biometrics with the help of a biometric scanner or the touchpad installed on the device. To minimise the difficulties faced by illiterates and elderly people in reading and understanding the text displayed on the screen, the text is replaced with photographs of different denominations to select from and the ATM will dispense the selected amount. The headset/speaker attached will read out the details like current balance, updated account statement, etc. A Microphone can also be used to input commands into the ATM. This is a Green device since solar panels are used to power the machine and touchpad and speakers provide a card-less (reduces the use of plastic cards) and paperless operations as the user is his/her own ATM card.
