What were the other internal influences at play in your decision making process for each product. Apply other relevant consumer behaviour theory in terms of: Perception, Learning, Attitudes, and Personality topics. External Influences Were there any relevant external influences that may have affected your decision (such as social and cultural influences). It is critical in answering the above criteria that you apply relevant consumer behaviour theory in your assignment. You can either analyse each purchase individually or you could compare or contrast each purchase as you develop the report. You could also choose to integrate the discussion of Part 1 and Part 2 as another approach to complete the report. Consumer Decision Making Process:
Need Recognition:
What is the perceived problem?
The perceived problem as it is right now for me is to buy a hiking back pack for my travel times. I am in a very need of a proper bag which can be helpful to carry on large treks. It must be comfortable as well as it must have a 45 l of capacity at least to have my requirements fulfilled. The problem is very detailed as it can be seen that the pr
oduct should be quality approved and must be suitable for every situation I want to make my own blog.
What need is this purchase satisfying?
Needs are very much dependent on the situation and every situation has its own agenda. This situation is totally dependent on me and my skills. How I must manage to keep my trekking as well as my belongings close together without losing the enjoyment. It also depends how much I am interactive and which group of people will I socialize with. Security is very important when it comes to luggage as you are travelling from one place to another at a very short time of stay.
What is your actual state and your desired state?
My actual state in this position is mostly about what the others think and will I be good enough to go the trek. This state of mind(Hoyer,1984) is not controlled and always can moved easily. While my desired state is to have my peace of mind as well as how I perceive myself out in the open. Others opinion’s and the style of living or travelling would not become my enemy. Desired state is not easy to obtain, it requires focus and one’s own believe as well as determination, on the other hand the actual state consists a lot of factors and nothing can be done without taking into action at least 1 of them.
Is this a ritual purchase or something you have never bought before?
This is something that I haven’t bought before as I have never traveled before to places. My dream is to continue visiting places around the globe and for that my luggage and my daily needs must be in a very compact space. But at the same time it should be easily accessible and kept in protection. So making the decision of buying the perfect backpack according to my needs a very well researched step. This kind of buying is very much on need basis and comes once in sometime.
Pre-purchase search / Information resources:
What internal or external sources were considered and sought out when making the decision?
Internal sources:
Internal sources(Mizerski,1977) are memories that an individual has of his experiences. These can act as the most immense way of extracting information and using them in the present life’s. Most decision are made on what was done in the previous time by the individual, for which occasion they bought which product motivates them for the recent buying decision. Also memory helps to choose upgraded products from the market for a particular occasion. For example, how we are raised up listening to whose stories and of what type has also some impact on how we want to be and what we want to buy. It somehow is related to the present.
External sources:
External sources have a great list of people, (Darley,2010) groups, media etc. that are used to collect information. It basically means. To buy a backpack that is worth of my usage requires good research and for that I have taken suggestions from my friends and people who have been traveling and are going to treks almost all the time. Having their view of thought will help me in understanding the mechanics of buying backpack.
I have also used internet as the secondary source where I can see all the products from different brands. Each has their own uniqueness and some are better than the other. Buying a costly backpack will certainly help you gain the best quality but it won’t be correct enough to measure the need fulfillment.
Stores and merchandises are a very nice way of searching for things. This makes us in contact with product hand to hand. It allows the product to be checked instantly and look for varieties. Sometime in branded stores offers are huge more than the online store. But the quality they provide is the same. I have checked many brands and products by checking their height, depth, quality and many more.
Evaluation Process:
What were the alternatives /what products/services were included in your evoked set?
There are a lot(Cho,2002) of alternatives if I don’t...
