Both inattentional blindness and change blindness are visual awareness deficiencies. Change blindness is a phenomenon when evident change is failed to perceive. Whereases, inattentional blindness is a situation when we fail to recognize the presence of an unexpected object. Usually and very often we ignore or miss clearly apparent things that is no longer a part of our focus.
Inattentional blindness
In simplified term, the inability to focus attention on one stimulus while processing additional non-target inputs in the visual field is known as inattentional blindness (Blum, 2021). This idea bridges the gap between the theories of late and early selection. It claims that the amount of processing done on any given signal is determined by the present perceptual load. Perceptual load is minimal when attention is inexorably drawn to this stimulus and processing demands a modest amount of attentional resources.
