Performance review systems lay both positive and negative impacts on the morale of the employees. According to Gulzar, Advani and Jalees (2017), the positive impacts are that the employee morale is boosted when their managers review their performance and given constructive feedback for them. Methods such as setting their goals, rewarding them for good performance, maintaining unbiased and transparent relationship with them help employees to believe in themselves, thus, motivating them to perform even better. On the other hand, as argued by Surji (2013), negative impacts are increased pressure of performing better, being discouraged to find peers being appraised and job insecurity.
