GIF, or Graphics Interchange Format, images were introduced in 1987 and are used frequently. They may or may not be animated. Many websites provide a variety of free and low-cost animated GIFs, and some offer information about creating animated GIF files. Care must be taken,

however, to visit and download files from reputable sources so that malware is not embedded in the image. You can use a search engine or another search tool to locate recommended or popular resources.
