In this chapter we initially discussed the relationships that capture how reading and writing are integrally related including the social nature of language. In addition, good readers tend to be good writers, and good writers tend to be good readers. Wide reading can also lead to improved writing. Hence, reading and writing instruction should be integrated throughout the curriculum.
