In this chapter, we analyzed three different personality scores— aggression, anger, and depression—in two groups of alcoholic subjects, those with antisocial personality disorder and those without, when they were sober and when they were drinking. That study included an assessment of two other personality traits, a sociability score and a score for feelings of well-being (these data are in Tables D-30 and D31, Appendix D). A. What effects do personality type and drinking have on sociability? B. What effects do personality type and drinking have on feelings of well-being? Analyze the data using ML or REML estimation. For the ML/REML analysis, describe which covariance structure you chose and why. (If you read the section on traditional OLS ANOVA, repeat the analysis and compare the results with the ML/REML analysis.)
