In the Spring of 2020, the world was hit with a pandemic the likes of which had not been seen in over 100 years. John Jay College of Criminal Justice (and the City University of New York) recognizing that its primary purpose was to educate its students, rushed to come up with plans to keep the campus community safe, while also delivering instruction and other services to students.
Just over a year has passed, enough time has gone by to reflect on the actions taken by both the College and University during this unprecedented even. Looking back and keeping in mind what you learned in the lesson and chapter that covered pandemic planning, please write a paper (2-3 pages in length) which serves as an after-action evaluation of the College and University responses.
Please include: a very brief background leading up to the shut-down of normal operations; what happened, i.e., what was the College/University response to the pandemic to the best of your knowledge; what things went well; what things did not go so well; what, in reflection, do you think would have made the response better. Use specific examples of things that you observed during this crisis as they related to the continuance of College operations – both positive and negative.
