In the Preview for this chapter, we described a study in which women rated jobs advertised with masculine wording as less appealing than jobs advertised with feminine wording. The study obtained two scores for each woman: a rating for the masculine-worded job and a rating for the feminine-worded job. Which statistical procedure should be used to evaluate the significance of the mean difference between the two groups of rating scores?
