In the Hay’s bridge shown in Fig. 6.9, the unknown inductance and resistance of the
inductor coil are represented by the symbols L1 and R1, respectively.
(a) Obtain the bridge balance conditions.
(b) If the Q factor for the unknown inductor in the bridge has a high value, show
that the expression for the inductance value when the bridge is balanced is independent of frequency.
(d) If the Q value is high, calculate the value of the inductor if the bridge component values at balance are : R2 ¼ R3 ¼ 500 U ; and C ¼ 0.1 mF.
