In the aftermath of Bagarozzo's arrest, U.S. Attorney William Hochul stated, "This defendant admitted stealing almost a quarter-million dollars that would have gone to the residents of Buffalo. That the defendant operated day in and day out over eight years, committed his crimes while on city time using city vehicles, and utilized his mechanic skills to alter parking meters and make his thefts easier, ranks this as one of the more egregious breaches of honesty, ethics, and the public trust Buffalo has seen."
