In preparing your literature review, you will need to have completed the online learning modules which form the theoretical component of this subject.

The unit has been divided into 6 online modules. Each module has its own separate learning objectives.

The Modules are:

1. An introduction to nursing research and theories
2. Evidence based practice and review of literature
3. Qualitative and quantitative data research

4. Methods of data analysis
5. Research and nursing ethics
6. Research designs, approaches and critique

At the end of each section within the module, there are a number of multiple-choice questions. Each question must be answered. Students shall be given only one attempt at each question. 60% of all questions in each module must be answered correctly in order to pass the assessment component for each module.
This is Part 1 of the assessment process.

Part 2 of the assessment process requires all students to submit 3 assessments. Students are required to successfully complete all recognised criteria within each assessment’s marking guide.

The assessments are:

1.A research proposal based on an identified need: (written assessment equivalent to 1000 words)

2.A literature review which appraises relevant research on a chosen research topic that may relate to your work or clinical area (written assessment equivalent to 1000 words)

3.An article critique relevant to your chosen area of research (this assessment may be a written assessment of approximately 1000 words or 30 minutes of oral presentation, providing the Advanced Diploma Course Coordinator with the chosen article for review prior to the conversation for assessment).
