In pairs you are to prepare a plan for an interaction between a service user (a member of the Sengupta family) and a care worker using one of the three case studies below.  When planning ensure that you consider alternative communication theories and communication skills to formulate a coherent plan that will enable clear communication with the service user. Then you will take part in a short 10 minute role play in the context of the health/social care situation depicted in the case study, taking either the role of care worker or the service user.   Each student is to have the opportunity to demonstrate the use of communication theory and skills.


The role plays will be observed by the assessor who will assess the application of communication theories and skills demonstrated
