In many rural areas in countries around the world, it is very costly to construct an efficient water supply system. Therefore, groundwater is the principal source of water for drinking and other activities. Prior to use, the groundwater must be tested for safety and quality. Chloride in water affects the taste of many foodstuffs, and large amounts may lead to hypertension. However, little is known about the long-term effects. A recent multiple linear regression model was used to explain the variation in chloride in groundwater ( y). The model included five predictor variables.
