In Example 8.4, suppose that the porous wall is thin such that its thermal resistance is negligible. Furthermore, instead of helium gas, liquid water with a bulk temperature of 300 K is used as coolant. The local heat transfer coefficient between the wall and the coolant is assumed to be 1650 W/m2⋅K. Water is to be flown through the porous wall at a rate just enough to maintain the surface wet. Measurement shows that the upper surface of the wall remains wet at a temperature of 304 K. Calculate the flow rate of water through the porous wall, assuming that the air is dry. What will be the sensible heat flux passing through the wall into the coolant?
