In common with many other workers in the hemoglobin field, Hill expressed his equation in terms of an association constant, in contrast to the use of dissociation constants that is almost universal in enzyme kinetics. To avoid confusion, and to maintain consistency with the rest of the book, all equations in this chapter are written in terms of dissociation constants
