In Chapter 20, we review methods of reducing waste being generated by all sectors of industry. In one example of shared resources, we discussed the waste exchange between Norway and Sweden. Under that scheme, Sweden obtains burnable waste from Norway to run its waste to fuel plants, and in return, Norway receives the resulting residual waste. Imagine how this resources sharing could occur between two imaginary building projects. Keep in mind the need for proximity, regional availability of raw materials and building components.
